A saturday afternoon at Cahokia mounds. The largest mound builders site
in north america. The visitors center had some mighty bronze doors. A
model village dominated the visitors center with a ton of anthropologic
displays. Watched an interesting historical (visitors informational)
video. Follewed by some exploration of the grounds, checking out the
smaller mounds. Then it was a climb up the 159 steps to the top of
monks mound. The mighty center piece to Cahokia mounds. As a sun based
society they had a solar calander, or woodhenge as they call it now.
The Woodhenge area was slighty depressing. It was seperated from
everything else plus because of a construction companies equipment yard
they only get to recreate, research 3/4 of the woodhenge area. But it
was a good saturday afternoon.

Bowling at saratoga lane friday night with my sister & her husband.
Followed by some coffee at cartel. They stopped in town for the night.
Then we met up for a brunch at j. Bucks before they split for the second
leg of their drive back to florida.

A trip Laumeier sculpture park. I got there after 5 so the gallery was
closed. Which means that I need to make another trip out there to see
john waters exhibit.

The arch rival roller girls had their championship bout tonight. The
M80's vs. the stuntdevils. The M80's trounced the stuntdevils 129 to
40. Allowing them to hold onto their championship title for a second
year.

Sunday went out on the katy trail. Rode a loop from dutzow to
mckittrick. 54 miles on hardpacked dirt & limestone. Mostly woods,
quite a few "villages" that I passed through. There was some
interesting sections along the missouri river, with good views of the
cliffs along the rivers edge. This trip was taken on k2 the trusty
commuter, a nearly 50 pound beast. I picked up something that gave me a
sore throat and the sniffles 3 days later I'm still try to recover from
sunday. Funny thing is the best feeling part of my days are the ride to
and from work. Speaking of, its about that time today to get moving.

Went bowling friday at saratoga lanes. Sweet little second floor
bowling alley & lounge. This joint was in maplewood & has been around
for almost 100 years. What's best is the old school hand scoring. No
computers except for the digital jukebox.
